Mrs. E Gwasira

Founder & Managing Director: Perseverance Trust & Executor Services

Emilia Gwasira is the founder and Managing Director of Perseverance Trust & Executor Services in Zimbabwe with decades of managerial experience in the Public sector locally and internationally. She is a qualified and registered estate administrator and also an insolvency practitioner.

She is a holder of a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of West London, a BSc Hons Politics and Administration from the University of Zimbabwe, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law (Conciliation and Arbitration) from the University of Zimbabwe.

Perseverance Trust &Executors Services was founded by Emilia Gwasira and her late husband Solomon Gwasira over a decade ago. Emilia has a keen interest in market gardening.

Dr. E Lwanda-Rutsate

DPhil-Law, MWL, LLB, BL (Hons) (UZ)

Elizabeth Rutsate is a Senior Law Lecturer at Africa University (2021 to present) having previously worked in the same capacity at the University of Zimbabwe (2016-2021) where she lectured in Family Law, Women’s Law and the Law of Succession.

Upon graduating from law school in 1991 she joined the magistracy, which she left in 2002 at the grade of Provincial Magistrate after having gained considerable experience in the administration of estates.

She has publications in the area of gender and women’s human rights including a 2018 journal article interrogating the inheritance dilemma faced by cohabitating women, an issue addressed (hopefully) under the new marriage laws in Zimbabwe.

Elizabeth is a registered legal practitioner since 1992 and has private practice experience, having worked under Masawi and Partners law firm between 2006 and 2007.

Ms. M. S Gwaunza

Board Member

Mercy Sibongile Gwaunza is a lawyer by profession. She is a registered Legal Practitioner, Notary Public, and Conveyancer.

She has wide-ranging experience in legal practice in, succession law, labour law, commercial law, civil litigation, conveyancing and arbitration having started practicing law in 1998.

She is an Arbitrator with the Commercial Arbitration Centre of Zimbabwe and was a member of the Panel of Arbitrators for the World Bank, International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes from 2013-2019.

Mercy has also served on a number of boards and was a Trustee of the Law Society of Zimbabwe Compensation Fund from 2012-2015. 

Dr. J. F Musamba

Board Member

He has a PhD in Business Leadership (St Linus University)

Thesis: An Investigation and Analysis of the Role of Good Corporate Governance in Zimbabwe’s State Owned Enterprises and Parastatals in the Development or Underdevelopment of Zimbabwe. He holds an MBA in Strategy & Finance (Institute of Financial Management-A joint venture between the University of Manchester and the University of Wales-Bangor)He is also a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators as well as a fellow of the Southern Africa Institute of Marketing.

He is a registered Public Accountant. And a Certified Trainer of Directors - Commonwealth Association of Corporate Governance (CACG) He is also a Certified Forensic Accountant

He retired as Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of the Chartered Governance Institute in Zimbabwe after serving for more than 10 years. (while at ICSAZ led the team that the production of the ICSAZ Public sector accounting curriculum and the Diploma in forensic accounting qualification)

He was a lecturer in Corporate Governance at the Midlands State University.

Previously, Lecturer in Finance, Accounting and Business Studies with the Ministry of Higher Education (Mutare Polytechnic).
